Dinan 21-27 BMW M3/M4 (G80/G82/G83) Adjustable Coil-Over Suspension System

Dinan's design retains the superb factory electronic shocks but swaps the springs to a more aggressive, performance enhancing formula and implements threaded collars that allow the user to change the ride height themselves. While shorter, stiffer springs are commonplace in aftermarket suspensions and are a key element in reduction of body roll it is not a one size fits all approach. In the case of the G8x M3/M4 where the vehicle has a penchant for oversteer, stiffening the rear springs would exacerbate the problem of the rear losing traction before the front when the platform is pushed to the limit. Dinan instead has opted to soften the rear spring rate as well as switch from the factory progressive rate rear to a dual rate spring setup. The combination increases predictability and compliancy, and in turn, provides better rear grip/road holding for a vehicle that needs both. The result is a sleek lowered stance that provides improved handling to go along with its stunning visual appearance. The springs combined with progressive bump stops and other components increase travel that allow the car to be lowered up to 1-1/8" in the front and 2-1/4" inches the rear. However, to retain the ride quality synonymous with Dinan suspension kits the recommended drop of 3/4" (M4) or 7/8" (M3) in front and 3/4" in the rear is advised. For suspension connoisseurs, or those that are just simply very particular, suspension packers are included to fine-tune handling and comfort by changing the clearance of the progressive bump-stops --- something no respectable race car is without. The Dinan D190-8210 Adjustable Coil-Over Suspension System is designed for 2021-2023 BMW M3 and M4 models with G80, G82, or G83 chassis designations. This performance suspension system retains the factory electronic shocks while replacing the original springs with a carefully developed formula that improves handling, stance, and driver confidence. Threaded collars provide precise ride-height adjustment at the front and rear, allowing enthusiasts to tailor the vehicle’s appearance and suspension behavior to their preferences.
Dinan engineered the spring rates specifically for the G8x platform rather than applying a generic suspension formula. The front springs are 15% stiffer to reduce body roll, while the rear springs are 10% softer than stock to improve traction, compliance, and predictability during aggressive driving. The rear also changes from the factory progressive spring design to a dual-rate setup, helping the vehicle maintain better road holding without making the ride unnecessarily harsh. Dinan-spec progressive bump stops and included suspension packers further improve suspension travel and allow the bump-stop clearance to be fine-tuned for handling and comfort.
The system can lower the front of the vehicle by up to approximately 1 inch and the rear by up to 2-1/4 inches, depending on tire clearance and setup. For a balanced combination of performance and everyday ride quality, Dinan recommends approximately 3/4 inch of front lowering on the M4, 7/8 inch on the M3, and 3/4 inch at the rear. The threaded collars also permit raising the vehicle above its original ride height when needed. Machined 6061-T6 aluminum components receive a black anodized finish for corrosion protection and a clean, performance-oriented appearance. Stock upper spring mounts and spring isolators are retained for quiet operation.
