APR 22-26 Volkswagen Jetta/Taos (EA211 MQB) 1.0T/1.5T PEX Open Intake System

The APR Open PEX Intake System is the best dollar-per-horsepower intake system for the 1.0T and 1.5T Engine! We've maximized performance and sound dramatically by removing flow restrictors, reducing pressure drop and increasing airflow. This translates to more horsepower and torque, and less physical strain on the turbocharger. The system looks great, sounds amazing, and produces more horsepower and torque you can feel. Our Open PEX Intake System does away with the closed airbox design and uses a massive 7" washable and reusable cotton filter with a frontal inlet and 4" rear outlet. This was necessary to limit pressure drop across the factory system and maximize airflow, while allowing you to fully hear the engine breathe! The massive filter provides excellent filtration. By oversizing the filter, we're able to limit pressure drop without sacrificing filtration. This is made possible through the use of greatly increased filter surface area. The PEX material give the intake an OEM feel and it allows us to make a complex and organic heat shield shape that keeps hot air pushed through the frontal radiator away from the intake tract. Lastly, PEX retains heat less than other materials, such as metal, making it ideal for performance.Flow Bench and Dyno TestingThe factory intake system simply can't match the performance of our intake system. The factory frontal airbox only flows 470 CFM at 28" of H2O. We improved this by up to 113% with our open airbox across the testing range and hit a peak flow of 935 CFM by at the same depression! This directly translates to more power you can feel. Our 1.5T test vehicle saw an additional and 10 WFT-LBS of torque and 6 WHP compared to stock! The APR CI100063 PEX Open Intake System is engineered for 2022–2024 Volkswagen Jetta and Taos models equipped with the EA211 MQB 1.0T or 1.5T engine. By removing the restrictive factory airbox design and optimizing the intake path, this system reduces pressure drop, increases airflow, improves throttle response, and helps reduce physical strain on the turbocharger. The result is a more responsive driving experience with additional horsepower and torque, along with a deeper and more engaging engine sound.
The system uses a high-heat-deflection PEX intake structure that retains less heat than metal alternatives. Its integrated heat-shield shape helps direct hot air from the front radiator away from the intake tract, supporting cooler and more consistent inlet temperatures. A large washable and reusable cotton filter provides increased filtration surface area, allowing substantial airflow without sacrificing filtration performance. The frontal inlet and 4-inch rear outlet are designed to maximize flow through the system while preserving an OEM-style fit and finish.
APR flow-bench testing recorded up to a 113% airflow improvement over the factory intake, reaching as much as 935 CFM at 28 inches of water pressure compared with 470 CFM for the stock system. Dyno testing on a 1.5T vehicle showed gains of up to 6 wheel horsepower and 10 foot-pounds of wheel torque. The plug-and-play design installs in minutes and does not affect emissions equipment. Models equipped with Secondary Air Injection require the APR CI100020-A breather filter, sold separately.
